Office Policies and Fees (please read)

Communication, Paperwork, Fees, Payments, Insurance & Cancellations

Office Communication: You can contact our office through our website or the SimplePractice For Clients app (Apple and Android). We have an online confidential and encrypted Client Portal through which you can schedule/cancel appointments, complete/update paperwork, contact your therapist, and see your billing. We have a part time Virtual Assistant that will respond to your texts and voicemails as time permits.

Initial Paperwork: After scheduling their first appointment, new clients will receive a link via email in order to complete their individual online paperwork. Therapists need to receive the complete paperwork of each client at least 24 ahead of the first appointment, otherwise the session will need to be rescheduled.

Fees: Our therapists have different private fees (varying from $170-$350). To learn more about how each of our therapists work, please check their profiles here.

Payments: Our office is automated and uses an online confidential Client Portal that is HIPAA-compliant (follows the HIPPA privacy law). This Portal gives you direct access to your billing, scheduling, and secure messaging with your provider. You can access your Client Portal account via a secure mobile app (SimplePractice for Clients) or via our website. This system does not take cash or checks, only credit/debit cards, Flexible Spending or Health Savings Account cards. Any private pay, insurance copay, coinsurance or deductible will be charged electronically to your payment card in the same day of your session. An invoice and payment statement will be posted in your client portal at that time as well.

Insurance: Some of our therapists take insurance (check here to learn more about it). Some of our therapists are considered Out-of-Network (OON) for most insurance. Important: please check with your insurance about your specific health plan coverage for mental health (copays, deductibles, out-of network benefits, if it covers couples counseling). NOTE: sex therapy is not covered by any insurance. Only schedule an appointment when you are sure the therapist accepts your insurance.

Cancellations: We serve the Iowa community and we have waiting lists. We want to make access to therapy available to all in a fair and equitable way. If you schedule an appointment but then decide not to come, please cancel it at least 24h in advance, or a fee between $100-$350 will be charged to your payment card. A one-time fee forgiveness will be applied to an emergency situation. Thank you for understanding!
