The Center is Here for You!
The Relationship & Intimacy Center is here to support you through your life journey. We care for your wellbeing by offering a confidential, friendly and ethical environment for therapy.
The Center was created to fulfill a need for services that were not easily available in the state of Iowa. We offer in-person and online services. We are proud of supporting people from all backgrounds: all ages (teens and above), all genders, all races, all religions (faith-based and secular), all sexual orientations, national and international upbringing, the military, the clergy, among others. We believe in compassion and in honoring all people and lifestyles. Everyone is welcome to our practice!
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide excellent, comprehensive and integrated counseling services for individuals, couples, families, and groups. We use a systemic and humanistic approach in therapy. We believe that there are many factors that impact our quality of life, such as: how we feel about ourselves as individuals, how aware we are of the influence of past life situations on our present behavior and relationships, how mindful we are of others around us, how we respect and negotiate the differences between ourselves and the ones we love; how we grow over time and learn to enjoy life through awareness, intentionality, compassion, wisdom, and inner peace. For some, spirituality also play an important role in life .
We offer specialized services to improve your quality of life.
Our team is specialized in individual wellbeing as well as relationship improvement. We address issues related to personal growth (self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress), trauma (from childhood or work settings), sexual intimacy, the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals with ADHD and Aspergers (high-functioning ASD), sexual abuse, among others.
We can help you become more aware of yourself and then establish healthy relationships.
Our work includes strengthening your sense of self in the midst of your busy life. We start by revisiting your values, needs, boundaries, emotional regulation, and communication style. Then we move to relationship issues, from dating, preparing for living together, pregnancy, parenting, conflict, affairs, open relationships, and divorce discernment. We also address sexual health issues for women and men, such as difficulties with arousal, desire, orgasm, and some sexual obsessions (porn, love). Spirituality can also be added to your therapy per your request.
Unfortunately, we are not trained to work with sex offenders at this point. We will be glad to refer you to professionals that may be able to support you.
