I am Rachel and my work is about helping individuals that want to overcome past traumas, grief, anxiety and depression. My therapeutic approaches include CBT, DBT, IFS, SFT, and EMDR. I am currently working towards my certification in Sexual Addiction and my PhD in Forensic Psychology.

Here are some situations that I help you with:

Are you going through anxiety, depression, or complicated grief?

Does life feel overwhelming right now? Has the pandemic brought concerns to you at work or at home? Or are you feeling sad, depressed or unmotivated, lacking motivation and energy? Would you like to learn new strategies to deal with these common life challenges? My expertise includes anxiety and depression, and I can share with you effective strategies to deal with these challenges.

Or are you grieving the loss of a loved one, a friend, a job, a romantic partner, or a life dream? Have you been feeling stuck in that pain? There are several ways to grieve a loss, and there is no certain path to get over it. Talking to a therapist can help you mourn your loss at your own pace.

Are you trying to overcome life stressors, relationship trauma, childhood trauma, betrayal trauma, sexual trauma, spiritual trauma, family trauma, pet loss trauma or complex trauma ?

Do you think that your past experiences may be impacting your current relationships? Have you been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Trauma happens when we experience very stressful, frightening or distressing events that are difficult to cope with or out of our control. It could be one incident, or an ongoing event that happens over a long period of time. Most of us will experience an event in our lives that could be considered traumatic.

Have you been diagnosed with PTSD? Are you a member of the military, law enforcement (police professionals), firefighting or EMS communities?

Some professionals are more prone to have PTSD due to their regular exposure to intense or dangerous activities.
  • Military soldiers may face intense stress, fear of injury or death, loss of comrades, and transition from battlefield to civilian life. Deployed US military personnel shows a PTSD prevalence btw 14-16% to 20-30%. The Marines were found to rank significantly higher than those who served in other branches. PTSD rates vary by war, with estimates of 11-20% for Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans, 12% for Gulf War veterans, and 15% for Vietnam veterans.
  • EMS and Medical professionals may be regularly exposed to injury, illness, addiction, trauma, and death. One study found that 5.6% of nurses reported a clinically significant level of PTSD symptoms.
  • Police officers may often face violence and traumatic events. One study found that 5% of police officers have PTSD.
  • Firefighters are often the first to respond to vehicle accidents and natural disasters, in addition to dealing with the unpredictable nature of fire. One study suggests that 20% of all firefighters experience PTSD.

Are you trying to overcome sexual addiction like porn use and compulsive sexual behavior for yourself or your romantic partner?

Sex addiction refers to excessive sexual thoughts, desires, urges or behaviors that can’t be controlled and cause distress and harm to your relationships, finances and other aspects of your life. Sexual addiction is also called hypersexuality, compulsive sexual behavior and other names. Treatments include medications, psychotherapy and self-help support groups.
